Consultation

Structured support for hair & scalp concerns
Consultations at TrichoCentre are carried out by a trichologist trained at The Institute of Trichologists and practising since 2015. Appointments are designed to explore relevant factors in a calm, private setting and to provide clear, practical next steps where appropriate.

TrichoCentre provides non-medical trichology services. Consultations focus on observation, education and cosmetic hair and scalp care guidance. They do not provide medical diagnosis or medical treatment.

Appointments are available for adults aged 18 years and over and are not NHS-funded. Initial consultations usually last 45-60 minutes.

During Your Appointment

Your hair and scalp concerns are discussed in detail. A visual and, where appropriate, magnified scalp assessment may be carried out. Relevant background factors such as general health history, nutrition, lifestyle and family history may be explored as they relate to hair and scalp health.

Findings are explained clearly, and where appropriate, individual care options may be discussed so you can decide what feels suitable for you.

If medical investigation may be advisable, you may be encouraged to consult your GP or another regulated healthcare professional.

Learn more about how non-medical trichology works alongside medical care in the FAQs on the About Us page.

Examination and Preparation

Your consultation may include visual examination and digital trichoscopy using specialist equipment. Discomfort during examination is uncommon.

With your consent, progress photography and trichoscopy may be used at follow-up appointments to monitor changes in hair and scalp appearance over time.

Before your first appointment, you will be asked to review and sign consultation and examination consent documentation.

Please complete the Pre-Consultation Information Form before attending. Where possible, avoid washing your hair for 24-48 hours beforehand to support scalp assessment. Recent blood test results within the last 3-6 months may be helpful but are not required.

What clients say about their consultation experience

From fear to clarity

I came into Ben’s office full of fear and worries about losing hair. Ben was very kind and patient while educating me on hair and scalp health. He did not try to trick me into buying any expensive products, but he focused on science and explanation. I felt comfortable and supported throughout. — Google Review

Professional, calm and supportive

Ben was very welcoming and kind, putting me at ease very quickly. His calm and professional manner is second to none and he takes the time to explain things properly to you. Would highly recommend if anyone is worried about hair loss, don’t give up, talk to someone who actually understands hair. — Google Review
